Beginning Branch & Bramble

Hi all!

I want to share a bit of my heart behind this blog. My desire is to be completely transparent about the joys and struggles I've encountered through pregnancy, birth, parenting, and marriage; really, life as a whole.

After giving birth, many different things hit me, and they hit hard. I'm certain what I experienced many other women have, but I had no idea who to talk to about it; no one ever told me about the many weird and frustrating moments I encountered. Women have been giving birth since the beginning of time, so why is it so ridiculously taboo to talk about the mind, body, and emotions of a woman who has gone through this.

My hope is no other woman will feel alone throughout life's ebbs and flows; that this blog would be used as a "Hey, me too!", or "Oh good, I'm not crazy." ah-hah moment. I want to build up others, encourage conversation, and shed light on the topics no one talks about. Let's create a community for support and resources. I don't want this blog to be solely based on pregnancy, birth and life postpartum. I would also love to write about adoption, and struggles with fertility, and I hope to chat with some women who may be willing to share their own stories, struggles and triumphs with moments I am unable to speak about. For now, I will be writing from my own experiences. I pray that there is hope in my stories, that there would begin to be light, clarity, and peace in the chaos; an olive branch in the bramble.
